Being a child in 1960s was a totally different story compared to being one at childhood today. It had none of the smartphones, the streaming services, or the social media updates, only pure joys, the close connections of people, and the experiences that were even better than life. It would be a period of culture change, classic music, black and white TVs, and out door adventures that hours were spent till the sun went down. Black-and-White Television

Television sets were cumbersome and mostly showed programs that were in black and white. Families also used to sit at specific time and watch their favorite programs as they did not have the choice of stopping and rewinding.
Rotary Dial Phones

To make a phone call required one to slowly rotate a rotary dial by number. There were long cords which were used to pass through the rooms and the conversation was short due to the possibility of someone waiting in queue to use the line.
Playing Outside All Day

The majority of kids spent their childhood on the streets cycling, playing games in the street, and the only homecoming was when the lights on the streets turned on.
Transistors and Vinyl Records.

The music was played on transistor radios or record players. It was thrilling to wait and listen to a favorite piece in the radio.
Drive-In Theaters

It would be a weekend entertainment to watch films in a parked vehicle. Families brought snacks and used to watch movies in the open air.
Simpler School Days

Notes were written on chalk boards, wooden desks and classrooms. Little technology was used in schools and work was done using pen and paper.

The identity of the decade can be described by the emergence of the great bands and singers. The songs turned into culture songs and were passed on by the friends and the families.

Priced jewels before the digital entertainment was the comic books and weekly magazines. Children sold, gathered, and read them over and over again.

The fashion in the 1960s was verbose and growing; tattoos, bell-bottoms and loud prints. Hairstyles and clothing also became constituents of a powerful culture of the time.
Community Spirit in the Neighborhood

People were acquainted with their neighbors, doors were frequently open and people were constantly meeting at gatherings. Familiarity and sense of belonging were very high.
